Three Sessions Later…

This blog is a gentle unfolding of my trauma‑informed yoga journey — a space where movement, breath, and reflection meet grief, resilience, and creativity. Each session explores a chakra through practice and lived experience: grounding with the Root Chakra, softening into flow with the Sacral Chakra, and learning to balance strength and release through karate and yoga. Alongside these practices are the small moments that remind me healing isn’t one sudden breakthrough, but a collection of breaths, pauses, and quiet returns to presence.

Welcome Back…

When I first shared Movement as Medicine, I wrote about how karate, Pilates, and yoga became lifelines in my healing. What I didn’t share then was how that journey began. This story is the part that came before — the quiet days after Paige’s memorial, the silence that settled into our home, and the unexpected ways grief moved into my body.
It is the story of a painted strawberry rock, of finding comfort in small whispers, and of slowly returning to movement when words could no longer carry the weight of loss. If Movement as Medicine was about discovering healing, this is about how I found my way there.

This space was born from my journey through grief and healing. In searching for balance, I discovered that movement could be more than exercise — it could be medicine. Karate gave me courage, Pilates rebuilt my stability, and yoga brought me peace. Together, these practices became the foundation of resilience and renewal.
